MEET OUR JUDGES
Trevor is a native of Lebanon, Ohio and also a proud student of Drew Vamosi! He is currently a Show Supervisor at RWS Entertainment Group in NYC and is charge of teaching cast members production shows that go onto Holland America Cruise ships. Trevor was most recently a principle dancer at The Union Dance Project, in which he got to perform at Jacob’s Pillow, and was an original cast member of Disneyland’s Mickey and the Magical Map. Previously Trevor was seen touring the country in the 1st National Tour of La Cage Aux Folles starring George Hamilton, and before that performing at the Radio City Music Hall in the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. He also starred as the Soldier in New York Musical Theatre Festival's Petrouchka in which he was awarded the Best Individual Performance Award in 2010. Additional credits Include: Mr. Mistoffelees in the 25th Anniversary National Tour of CATS. International credits include: touring with Odyssey Dance Company in Germany, CATS in Brazil, Cirque's Carnivale in Romania, and worldwide with Norwegian Cruise Lines. Other credits include A-Rab in West Side Story, Nicole in La Cage Aux Folles, Sugar... Some Like It Hot the Musical, Branson's Christmas Dreams, Disney World's Celebrate the Seasons, and more. Trevor's choreography credits include Chicago, Suessical the Musical, Once Upon a Mattress, Sound of Music, Energy NDC Nationals Opening Number, workshops and conventions all over.
Tyler is a Dancer, Choreographer, Performer, and California Native. Tyler holds a degree in Dramatic Arts, Theatre emphasis, and is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, with National Tour and Regional credits including “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”, “High School Musical”, “Damn Yankees”, “Kiss Me, Kate”, “Evita”, “The Sound of Music”, and “Anything Goes” to name a few. Tyler continues performing and choreographing for many professional Musical Theatre venues throughout the country. His keen eye for detail and unique stylization has gained him much recognition in recent years. Professional credits have included residencies with CMT’s Sacramento Music Circus, the Sacramento Theatre Company, as well as Radio Disney, hosting Arena events as Disney On Ice and Disney Channel concerts. Most recently, Tyler was asked to be an Ambassador for Capezio's new line of shoes, the Capezio Tap Sonic, showcasing them in his convention & master classes he teaches on tour in the dance circuit. Tyler has shared the stage dancing with artists including Nick Jonas and Vanessa Hudgens.
Trevor Loritz was born and raised in Green Bay, WI. He grew up dancing at Barb’s Centre for Dance, at Midwest Movement under the direction of Ted Jackson, and under Bruce Campbell at Motivation 2 Dance. Loritz was an assistant teacher for Co. Dance Convention and Competition for four years where he assisted Nick Florez, Tyce Diorio, Gina Starbuck, Judy Rice, Gregg Russell, Barry YoungBlood, Nancy O’Meara, Lauren Gottlieb, Chebar Williams, and Chris Jones. After attending Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, CA for two years, he decided to leave college to pursue his dance career. He later went back to school and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Trevor had the pleasure of recently touring with the legendary Paula Abdul on her Straight Up Paula! North American Tour. Some of his other credits include the 51st SuperBowl Halftime Performance with Lady Gaga, the 58th Grammy Awards with Lady Gaga, the 65th Primetime Emmy’s with Neil Patrick Harris, performances with Helene Fischer (German artist), The Masked Singer (Season 1), Speechless (Season 2), the opening number in the 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards, Fuller House (Netflix Season 2), Nickelodeon’s 2014 Kid’s Choice Awards, spot date performances with the artist Maty Noyes, XQ Super School Live Opening and Closing Numbers, Curb Your Enthusiasm (Season 9), Arrested Development (Season 5), This Halloween in Dance on The Ellen Show, the 2014 National Memorial Day Concert on PBS with Megan Hilty, Disney’s hit television show Austin and Ally (Season 3), RuPaul’s Drag Race Reunited (Season 6), and the 2010 MDA Telethon in Las Vegas. Mr. Loritz has performed in a few Las Vegas shows, including Steve Wynn’s Showstoppers, Surf the Musical, and America’s Got Talent Live.
ALEXANDER JAMES EDWARDS
Alexander attributes his core training to Jana Block Mitchell, Malana Murphy, and Michelle Sherrill, his teachers in Lewisville, Texas where he honed his skills in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, african, modern, and musical theater. Since then, he has worked alongside notable dancers, teachers, and choreographers such as Alexander Pelham, Robert Battle, Debbie Allen, Latrina Bolger, Tyrell Washington, Kevin Harris, Todrick Hall, CK Edwards, Christopher Huggins, William Wingfield, William B. McClellan, Jr., and Jason Samuels-Smith. He has also performed with artists MC Hammer, Lalah Hathaway, Shirley Murdock and Destiny’s Child, appeared in The Nutcracker with The Moscow Ballet and also on Barney and Friends, So You Think You Can Dance, Dance Moms, Todrick, and Wife Swap. Edwards is an alumnus of the world-renowned Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas and is also a graduate of Point Park University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance. He was a member of the world-renowned Dayton Contemporary Dance Company of Dayton, Ohio, where he toured and performed many great repertory works nationally and internationally. His choreography has been showcased across the country. He is currently a guest artist with Rhythmic Souls Tap Company. Alex is also a freelance guest dancer, teacher, choreographer, singer, songwriter, actor.
Matt is a 12 year resident of Manhattan and proud member of Actors Equity Association who originally hails from Massachusetts. His list of credits include the national tour of Flashdance the musical (Dance Captain/Swing), La Cage Aux Folles - 2010 Tony Award winning Broadway revival/National Tour (Angelique/Assistant Dance Captain), Radio City Christmas Spectacular (6 national/arena touring seasons), The View Upstairs (Drama Desk/Lucielle Lortel Award nominated Off-Broadway production), The Doors Project (principal dancer), Colors of the Season-Galt House (principal/dance captain), PLATFORMS (principal/NYMF production), Ticket To Ride (principal/dance supervisor), numerous industrials/commercials/company work as well as master class faculty for Broadway Inbound and Broadway Dance Center. Matt is honored to have performed in many charitable events including several seasons of Broadway Bares and the Fire Island Dance Festival to support Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS as well as Dancers Responding to AIDS. His concert dance/company work includes the launch of Chet Walker's WALKERDANCE, creative assistant/company member for Gilmore Boyz (dir. Vernard Gilmore), Max Luna Dance Co. (soloist/Horton seminar assistant), Cecilia Marta Dance Co. (soloist) and assistant to Hope Boykin for "Go In Grace" (Ailey's 50th Anniversary). Matt is forever grateful for his training which included The Ailey School (Oprah Winfrey Foundation Scholarship recipient), Jacob's Pillow Jazz/Musical Theater scholar (dir. Chet Walker), Boston Youth Moves (Dorothy Rogers Conneely Scholarship recipient), in addition to intensive musical theater training alongside David Marquez and high school direction from Joan Sheary in the arts magnet program at Burncoat Senior High School in Worcester, MA. Matt is so excited to be with the LEAP! team and wishes everyone a wonderful 2019 competition season!!!
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and moved to New York City where he started his training in the School of America ballet at the age of 13. Upon graduation in 2009, he joined São Paulo Companhia de Dança where he performed ballets from international choreographers such as George Balanchine, Jiri Kyrian, Nacho Duato, John Cranko, and Marco Goecke. Then in 2012, Victor joined the Royal Ballet of Flanders in Belgium where he performed works from Marcia Haydee, Christian, Spuck, Jorma Elo, Wayne McGregor, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and Glen Tetleys. In 2016, he was hired by RWS Entertainment Group, in association with Holland America Line, where he was a part of the creation of a brand-new show package and got to work hand in hand with John Cheron and Melanie Lewis. Victor is still with the company and is traveling the world aboard the Zaandam performing as a part of the Mainstage Entertainment Production Shows.
Chris Pederson was born and raised in San Diego, CA and is a professional Director, Choreographer, Creator, Stunt Actor & Dancer. His career has spanned through many facets including, musical theater, theme parks, cruise ships, commercial, film & television. Highlights of Chris’s performing career include dancing in the film “Rock of Ages” (starring Julianne Hough, Diego Boneta & Tom Cruise) where he worked with world renowned Dir/Choreographer, Mia Michaels. He has also performed on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars. In addition, Chris was a stunt performer in the #1 show in Las Vegas, “Le Reve”. In 2014 he became and currently is a choreographer for The Disney Company where his credits include co-choreographing the “Hocus Pocus Villains Spelltacular” and choreographing for several Disney Channel Holiday Specials & Disney’s Christmas Specials. Chris took on directing with RWS Entertainment on a brand-new theme park show, “Mysterio: Magic Rocks the Night” as Director/Choreographer. Other companies Chris has performed and created for are; ABC, Entertainment Central Agency, Sea World Orlando, Universal Orlando, Franco Dragone Productions, Holland America Cruise Line & Nickelodeon.
Dance was always his forte, especially hip hop. He attended University of the Arts in Philadelphia where he majored in musical theater. He started in theme parks which lead to cruise ships where he danced for 7 years. He then became an equity dance captain at Walt Disney World and simultaneously became a stunt captain in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando. Chris has performed live action stunt shows and most recently collaborating (Asst. fight/stunt coordinator) on a brand-new stunt offering for 20th Century Fox theme parks in Malaysia. Chris is currently on project with WDI Creative and teaches hip hop at The Right Combination Dance Studio in Orlando. His simple philosophy, “I’d rather be good at many things then great at just one.”
Scott G. Kufske juggles the roles of teacher, choreographer, director, produce, and performer. But most of all he enjoys travelling across the country as a dance competition adjudicator, host, and administrator. He operated and owned his own Dance Studio of “Steps” in Waterloo, Ontario for 14 years that trained dancers to many Over-All National Titles and Scholarships from the most respected dance organizations. Students graduated from Scott’s Studio and currently are enjoying careers in theme parks, cruise lines, television, music videos, Broadway, and the teaching profession. Scott served as President for Chapter #38 for Dance Masters of America and went on to become National Director for the Jr. Mr. Dance Scholarship Program for another 2 years. He loves to perform when he can and is a member of the Canadian Actors Equity Association with 28 shows to his credit. His choreography has been critically acclaimed and is he is highly respected for his contributions to the musical theatre industry across Ontario.
Scott continues to inspire and educate dancers across North America as a workshop teacher and motivational speaker with his “Vibe”, “Choreo” and “Comp-Connection” seminars. He is a guest choreographer for several dance studios and organizations all over North America. Scott has been the Director of many dance competitions over the years including Rhythm Dance, Starmaker Dance Festival, D-Force Productions, American Dance Awards Canadian Tour, and Terpsichore Dance Celebration.
